Game Preview: Bryan St. Joseph Eagles at Shiner St. Paul Cardinals
St. Paul plays its first home game of the season as Bryan St. Joseph comes to Shiner for the Cardinals 2016 homecoming.
St. Paul fell to Yorktown 16-6 on Friday ( August 26. 2016 ) and is looking to bounce back.
"This week, we have told our players that we need to get better," Cardinals head coach Jake Wachsmuth said.
The series with Bryan St. Joseph has been rather even in recent years, with St. Paul getting a win or two and the same for the Eagles.
Wachsmuth said St. Paul needs better play from the offense.
"We need to execute better; play our assignments better; have better ball security," he said.
On the defensive side, St. Paul will need to take away the big play and make it difficult for Bryan St. Joseph to get into scoring position.
St. Joseph will be led by quarterback John Navejar, wide receiver-linebacker Logan Liscomb, offensive-defensive lineman Nick Adam and running back-defensive back Nic DiMarco.
