WACO - Shiner St. Paul went for the win Friday with 30 seconds to play, but came up short dropping a 14-13 decision to Frisco Legacy Christian in a TAPPS Division IV regional at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Gil Hodges, who rushed for 374 yards on 40 carries, bulled in from 3 yards out with 30 seconds left to pull to within one, but the Cardinals were stopped at the 1-yard line on the two-point try.

Legacy Christian (11-1) scored twice in the second quarter on a 3-yard run by Lucas Ellison and a 7-yard run from Logan Ellison.

Hodges split the two scores with a 19-yard scoring run.
