Lady Cardinals win second straight TAPPS state title

WACO - The Shiner St. Paul girls repeated as TAPPS Class 2A cross country champions at Saturday's state meet.

The Lady Cardinals were led by junior Emily Wagner, who finished third in a time of 14 minutes, 12 seconds, and sophomore Kali Kocian, who was fourth in a time of 14:12.
Katelynn Leist finished 11th in a time of 14:49, Ashton Kutac was 12th in 14:51, Haley Morrow was 21st in 15:42, Davi Spaeth was 23rd in 15:49 and Mary Adamek was 26th in 16:16.
The St. Paul boys finished 10th and were led by freshman Cole Hybner, who finished 29th in a time of 20:50.
Michael Pesek was 35th in a time of 21:12, Brandon Sciba was 61sdt in 22:45, Blue Hybner was 66th in 23:09, Thomas Mabry was 76th in 23.41, Martin Kennedy was 79th in 24:01 and Derek Chunda was 84th in 25:03.
