St. Paul girls win Shiner Cross Country Meet

SHINER - St. Joseph sophomore Alex Nagle took first place in the Class 1A-2A division at the Shiner Cross Country Meet on Saturday.

Nagle ran the hilly course in a time of 12 minutes, 40 seconds to take first place in the girls' division.

Shiner St. Paul's Emma Morgan finished second at 12:51, followed by Shiner's Brooke Kloesel at 12:57. St. Paul's Elyssa Wagner (13:01) and Natalie Jackson (13:05) round out the top 5.

The St. Paul girls took first, followed by Moulton and Shiner.

Nordheim's Eli Julian took the top spot for the boys in 1A-2A, turning in 17:11, followed by a second-place tie between Flatonia's Jesus Hernandez and Ganado's Sergio Martinez, who both ran 17:51.

The Flatonia boys finished first, followed by Shiner St. Paul and Moulton.

In 3A-6A, the East Bernard girls took first place, followed by East View and Calhoun. Goliad was fourth, Industrial was fifth and Victoria West finished sixth.

Bloomington's Rebekah Hardee finished third with a time of 12:15.

The Industrial boys captured first, followed by East View and East Bernard. Industrial's Kevin Baez was first at 15:42.
