St. Paul girls win 5th straight state XC title

The Lady Cardinals won their fourth consecutive state cross-country championship, while the Cardinal boys finished in second place for the second year in a row in Waco on Monday, 10/30/2017.

WACO - The Shiner St. Paul girls cross country team finished in first place with a score of 49 points for their fifth straight TAPPS 2A state cross country title at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Club on Monday.

The Lady Cardinals were led by junior Riley Johnson, who finished in eighth place with a time of 13:52.20.

Freshmen Danni Blair finished in ninth place with a score of 13:52.20 and junior Bailey Blair followed right behind in 10th place with a time of 13:53.

Macy Grabarkavietz finished with a time of 14:08.40 for 13th place. Brooke Pesek paced herself with a time of 14:16.20 for 14th place.

Paige Brown finished in 16th place with a time of 14:27.90. Hope Kapavik finished with a time of 15:03.60 for 26th place.

The St. Paul boys team finished in second place for the second consecutive year.
